JOHN E. TWOMBLY, 52, of West Cape May, died Friday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Elsmere, Del. Born in West Cape May, Mr. Twombly was a lifelong resident and a former supervisor and cook at the Bayside State Prison, Maurice River Township, Cumberland County. Mr. Twombly had served in the US Marine Corps and the US Coast Guard. Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Urban of Wildwood; two sons, John Twombly of the Cold Spring section of Lower Township and Benjamin Twombly of Townbank; his mother, Mary Twombly of West Cape May, five sisters, Mary Snyder of Erma, Jeanette Dalton of Cold Spring, Virginia Emery of West Cape May, Merna Alexander of Cold Spring and Patricia Sexton of North Cape May; three brothers, James Twombly of San Diego, Calf, George Twombly of North Cape May and Timothy Twombly of Cold Sping and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 pm in the John Sudak Funeral Home in Cape May. Burial will follow at the Tabernacle Cemetery in Erma. Friends may call after noon at the funeral home. Donations in Mr. Twombly's name may be sent to the Veteran's Memorial Home, Vineland, NJ.
